KUWAIT TOWER

The Kuwait Towers are a group of three slender towers in Kuwait City, standing on a promontory into the Persian Gulf.

Their constuction began in 1963  and they were inaugurated in 1979 They were the sixth,and last, group in the larger Kuwait Water Towers system of 34 towers (33 store water one stores equipment)

AL SHAHEED PARK

Al Shaheed park, located on the periphery of Kuwait city, narrates the story of a land, its history and culture. The park consists of 200,000 m2 of greenery, featuring beautiful botanical gardens, two museums - Thekra & the Habitat, a visitor center, a lake, walkways and jogging tracks, making it the largest urban park in Kuwait.

Al Shaheed Park is a project developed by Al Diwan Al Amiri and managed by LOYAC (Lothan Youth Achievement Center). It is a precedent of its kind that Al Diwan Al Amiri - seen as one of the symbols of the State of Kuwait’s sovereignty and in which serves as the headquarters and the permanent centre of the country’s rulers takes initiation into reclaiming the former Green Belt - a series of gardens built between the old city of Kuwait and its expansion. 320 This is further complimented with a strategic vision from Al Diwan al Amiri in handing over the management of the property to the Kuwaiti youth to help cultivate and nurture the arts, history and culture through a year long calendar of events.

MIRROR HOUSE

The House of Mirrors or Mirror House, also known as the Khalifa & Lidia Qattan Art Museum is the residence of Artists Khalifa Qattan and his wife Lidia Qattan, both intellectual and pioneer artists in their field. The creator of the Mirror House, Lidia, is an Italian born arttist and writer who moved to Kuwait when she married her husband Khalifa. She began her project of single-handedly transforming their home into a fantastic work of art in 1966. The project was worked on intermittently until it’s completion in 2006. The exterior walls of the house is covered with murals of mirror mosaic, each designed symbolizing a meaning. The interior ground floor, is completely covered in mirror mosaic from floors, to walls, to ceilings, with each room carrying a theme such as the “Planet Earth” Hall, the “Zodiac” Hall, the “Universe” Hall, the “Knowledge” Hall, “My World” Hall, “Corridor of the Nations”, the “Shark Basin”, “Sea World” Hall, and “Stairs to Inspiration”.

THE LIBERATION TOWER

The Liberation Tower is a 372 meter-high telecommunications tower in Kuwait City, Kuwait, the second-tallest structure in the country and the 39th tallest building in the world.

Originally intended to be named The Kuwait Telecommunications Tower, construction of the tower commenced before the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on Aug. 21 When the invasion took place, construction, which was almost half-way complete, was put on hold.

Upon completion in 1993, the tower was renamed the Liberation Tower, symbolizing Kuwait’s liberation from Iraq

FAILAKA ISLAND

Failaka Island is located at the enterance of Kuwait Bay, adjacent to kuwait city on the set and 20 away from sea.

KUWAIT NATIONAL MUSEUM

The Kuwait National Museum is the national museum of Kuwait, located in Kuwait City. It was established in 1983 and designed by architect Michel Ecochard.

The museum comprises five buildings set around a central garden. Their organization is parallel to the architectural plan of the vernacular Arab mud house with its central courtyard. The main buildings are connected to each other with elevated walkways.1957 Eco chard explains that the grouping of those buildings corresponds to knowledge of the Arabian peninsula, its geography, its history and its civilization.

SOUQ AL-MUBARAKIYA

Souq Al-Mubarakiya is a souq in Kuwait City, Kuwait. It is one of the oldest souq in Kuwait, and was the centre of trade prior to the discovery of oil. This popular traditional market is located in Kuwait City, between Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Abdullah Al-Salem & Palestine Streets. Souk Al-Mubarakiya was established some 120 years ago and its took its name from then Amir Sheikh Mubarakh AlSabah who was the first to build a ‘‘Kishk’’(a booth) after a year from his resign in 1897 You can spend hours in this market strolling around and discovering reasonable bargains on heritage goods such as Persian silk carpets, real Arab antiques, perfumes like musk and oud, and traditional costumes. This place is perfect whether you want to shop, eat, or for sightseeing. Al-Mubarakiya features a variety of shops such as dates, honey, spices, sweets, vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish. In addition to a range of shops accessories, gold and silver jewelleries. The market also hosts two mini museums: Sheikh Mubarak Kiosk and the first Islamic pharmacy in Kuwait, and admission is free.
